The Legend of the Master Builder
The secret doctrine that flows through Freemasonic symbols (and to whose perpetuation the invisible Masonic body is consecrated) has its source in three ancient and exalted orders. The first is the Dionysiac artificers, the second the Roman collegia, and the third the Arabian Rosicrucians.
The Dionysians were the master builders of the ancient world. Originally founded to design and erect the theaters of Dionysos wherein were enacted the tragic dramas of the rituals, this order was repeatedly elevated by popular acclaim to greater dignity until at last it was entrusted with the planning and construction of all public edifices concerned with the commonwealth or the worship of the gods and heroes.
Hiram, King of Tyre, was the patron of the Dionysians, who flourished in Tyre and Sidon, and Hiram Abiff (if we may believe the sacred account) was himself a Grand Master of this most noble order of pagan builders. King Solomon in his wisdom accepted the services of this famous craftsman, and thus at the instigation of Hiram, King of Tyre, Hiram Abiff, though himself a member of a different faith, journeyed from his own country to design and supervise the erection of the Everlasting House to the true God on Mount Moriah.
The tools of the builders' craft were first employed by the Dionysians as symbols under which to conceal the mysteries of the soul and the secrets of human regeneration. The Dionysians also first likened man to a rough ashlar [i.e. a squared building stone, cut more or less true on all faces adjacent to those of other stones so as to permit very thin mortar joints] which, trued into a finished block through the instrument of reason, could be fitted into the structure of that living and eternal Temple built without the sound of hammer, the voice of workmen or any tool of contention. (Quoted in Markham, Two Churches Only, p. 212, emphases added)
This legend is paramount to the deepest symbolism we find in Freemasonry. The story of Hiram Abiff is based on the more ancient tale of Osiris, which is based on even older versions of sun gods. The names change but the stories stay essentially the same.
Notice how Hall describes the Masons portraying themselves as the master builders of the Old World who were "entrusted with the planning and construction of all public edifices concerned with the commonwealth or the worship of the gods and heroes." This, of course, is not true. They are not the true builders of these old edifices, they are imposters and posers, taking credit for the work of a prior (and more advanced) civilization that existed for centuries before ours.
The name Hiram Abiff is not found in the Old Testament, but we do read about the king of the Phoenicians known as Hiram of Tyre, who helped supply materials for Solomon's temple. You can read the Biblical account of the temple construction here and here. I recommend doing this so you can contrast it with the Masonic account if you're so inclined to do the research. But realize that just as Nephi said, the Biblical account has also been manipulated and is incomplete.
For our purposes here, I'll briefly paraphrase the rest of the Hiramic myth.
During the final days of the construction of Solomon's temple, Hiram Abiff entered the "unfinished sanctum sanctorum" (or holy of holies) every day at high noon to pray. Three ruffians, fellow Masons who had progressed to the Fellow Craftsman degree, conspired together to force Hiram to reveal to them the password of the Master's degree. Their names were Jubela, Jubelo, and Jubelum.
Each assailant encountered Hiram individually within the gates of the temple at separate times, and upon his refusal to reveal to them the "Master's Word," struck him with a weapon.
Jubela used a "twenty-four inch gage" to strike Hiram on the throat, Jubelo "struck him on the breast with the square," and Jubelum, "struck the Master between the eyes with the mallet and Hiram fell dead." These three ruffians buried the body of Hiram "over the brow of Mount Moriah" and placed a sprig of acacia (representing immortality) over the grave. They were eventually hunted down by Solomon's men and executed for their crimes. In the allegory, they represent the Church, the State, and the Mob, or superstition, ignorance, and fear.
Manly P. Hall continues with the story:
Parties of three were then sent out by King Solomon, and one of these groups discovered the newly made grave marked by the evergreen sprig. After the Entered Apprentices and Fellow Craftsman had failed to resurrect their Master from the dead he was finally raised by the Master Mason with the "strong grip of the Lion's Paw." (The Secret Teachings of All Ages, p. 139)
The final (and perhaps most critical) part of this Masonic legend is the quest for the "lost word". Hiram would not reveal the word to the ruffians, and died holding the great secret. When Solomon's men found the body of Hiram, they searched it for any sign of the lost word, but could not find it. Thus, a substitute word was given in it's place.
The "lost word" is extremely symbolic to the Masons. It represents hidden knowledge that is only lost to the profane, not the initiated. The "substitute word" is what is given to the profane (us) as truth. It is the false world narrative that we are taught in establishment educational and religious institutions. It includes our false history, false medical paradigm, false scientific models, false religion, and all the other lies we are taught.
In regard to the subject at hand (the Old World) the "lost word" is the hidden knowledge about the true builders of capitol buildings, cathedrals, basilicas, star forts, underground cities, temples, etc.
The "substitute word" is the official narrative we are fed offering a false origin story for each building, structure, or edifice. Within the substitute word, we find symbolism giving away the truth, hiding it in plain sight.
In the story of the construction of the Salt Lake Temple, many elements of the Masonic story of the Master Builder appear in the narrative. It is as if it was written into the history by algorithms. Here are the key points to consider.
- Only leaders are named in the narrative, common workers are included in the story only as an abstractive labor force able to accomplish miraculous feats of construction. (Focus is on civic/religious leaders, architects, and master masons).
- Hiram Abiff, the slain architect, dies before the temple is finished. His successors have to finish the edifice in the master's absence relying on their limited knowledge.
- Ruffians, coming from within the lower ranks of Freemasonry, betray Hiram and murder him in a selfish search for higher knowledge. They represent the church, the state, and the mob, or superstition, ignorance, and fear.
- In Hiram's absence a substitute word is given to the initiates until future generations can discover the lost, or true word.
- Finally, the slain master is raised from the dead with a Masonic grip, or handshake. This motif is one representing death and resurrection, or the rebirth of an initiate, who as he progresses from one degree to another, is becoming a new man. This is an imitation of Christian baptism.
The legend of the Master-Builder is the great allegory of Masonry. It happens that his figurative story is grounded on the fact of a personality mentioned in Holy Scripture, but this historical background is of the ancients and not the essence; the significance is in the allegory and not in any point of history which may lie behind it. (Ibid, p. 139, emphasis added)
That last sentence is worth repeating: the significance is in the allegory, and not in any point of history which may lie behind it.
This is how we need to view the forty-year saga of the construction of the Salt Lake Temple--as an allegory rather than a literal history.
Every single one of the motifs and archetypes in the bullet points above show up in the Salt Lake Temple narrative, including the Ruffians. I will expound upon each one, showing you exactly how it applies to the narrative.
But first, you must be wondering how all of these motifs were written into our official history.
In my opinion, this was accomplished through the use of AI, a technology that is much older than we are being told. All you have to do is look at the patterns in the narratives to see that they are algorithmic and machine-like, and not necessarily human.
The Rise of the Machines
- Histories across very different regions or projects might be narrated with the same template.
- A visionary founder--early struggles--heroic workforce--miraculous completion.
- Little variation in the type of obstacles described (always "bad weather," "lack of funds," "heroic perseverance").
- Lack of genuine logistical messiness--the "boring" details (supply chains, mistakes, lawsuits, failures) get skipped.
- Projects allegedly separated by thousands of miles or decades might have identical timelines (e.g., "foundation laid, abandoned, resumed, completed").
- Key figures often die or disappear at the same narrative points, as if the "script" required it.
- Missing documents, diaries, or invoices where you'd expect massive amounts of paperwork (huge projects, but no receipts).
- The same tone, phrasing, or moralizing language used across unrelated works.
- Overuse of stock phrases like "against all odds," "monument to perseverance," "completed in record time."
- A lack of regional linguistic quirks--as if all histories were standardized through the same "voice."
- Reported excavation volumes, stone weights, or time board-feet that don't match physical reality.
- Timelines compressed to near impossibility (cathedrals, railroads, capitols supposedly finished with labor and tech that don't add up).
- Repetition of the same "miraculous" productivity across projects.
- Histories that read less like actual chronicles and more like ritual dramas: cornerstone ceremonies, golden spikes, statues of Columbia, etc.
- Echoes of mythological archetypes--death and rebirth cycles, "exodus into the wilderness," or temples rising from ruins.
- Suggests the narrative may have been generated for meaning rather than accuracy.
Only the Leaders Matter
I am not a visionary man, neither am I given to much prophesying...I scarcely ever say much about revelations, or visions, but suffice it to say, five years ago last July I was here, and saw in the Spirit the Temple, not ten feet from where we have laid the Chief Corner Stone...(JD:1:133)
How ironic, the non-visionary man has a vision that he recalls five years later. Who knows if the real Brigham Young ever made this statement, but it is very important to the ritualistic pattern, which must have a founder. There must be a starting point, an idea, a vision. And let's just revisit what the legal term founded actually means:
Based upon; arising from, growing out of, or resting upon; as in the expressions "founded in fraud," "founded on a consideration," "founded on contract," and the like. (Black's Law Dictionary)
Legally, a founder does not build or construct anything new, in fact, these words do not even show up in the definition. A founder literally finds structures that are pre-existing and either repurposes them or builds on top of them.
In legal terms, Young did not build a new city in the Rocky Mountains, he found one. In Masonic lore, temples are often said to be built upon the ruins of more ancient buildings, and this is all part of the ritual (the phoenix rising out of the ashes symbolizing rebirth). I go much deeper into that in my post on the cornerstone ceremony.
Young has multiple roles in the narrative. In addition to being the visionary founder, he is the religious/civic leader (King Solomon) as well as the architect (Hiram Abiff). Remember, it was Young who is said to have dictated the initial plans to William Ward and Truman Angell, subordinates who merely added the mundane details. We're told that Brigham declared the following:
...But wait until I dictate, and construct it according to the best of my ability, according to the knowledge I possess, with the wisdom God shall give me...(JD 1:278, emphasis added)
According to the story, Young dictated the plans to William Ward who then came up with a drawing, however, there are no actual architectural blueprints of the Salt Lake Temple (with load bearing calculations) in existence. If there are, no one has been allowed to view them.
I reached out to the Church History Library inquiring what plans were available for viewing. The only thing they have is a plan of the basement (and a few windows) and a rough sketch of the exterior of the building (completely finished) by William Ward. View them here and here.
That's it. No blueprints showing loadbearing calculations, no original architectural drawings. This is a big deal, as no building could be constructed (and last over 130 years) without specifications detailing the exact load bearing calculations for each wall. If the Mormons really built this temple, these blueprints would exist somewhere.
My Lunch Break has been doing some great work lately on this phenomenon of missing blueprints. Start with this video:
Brigham Young has to navigate several trials, or tests during his tenure as temple founder. The two worth noting are the Mormon War of 1858 (Ruffian attack) and the defective foundation caused by the "negligence" of stone mason Alonzo Raleigh. After emerging from these trials triumphantly, Brigham then suffers the same fate as Hiram Abiff, tragically dying before seeing the temple finished and dedicated.
The Architect Must Die
- Obed Taylor died before the Assembly Hall was finished.
- Henry Monheim died before the Salt Lake City-County building was finished.
- Carl Neuhausen died before the Cathedral of the Madeleine was finished.
- John H. Burton died before the Provo Territorial Insane Asylum was finished.
- Franklin Angell (Truman's son) died before the Tabernacle was finished.
- John R. Winder died before finishing the Hotel Utah.
- Brigham Young, the visionary founder who conceived the temple and led the cornerstone ceremony, died on August 1 of 1877.
- Daniel Wells, long-time First Presidency member and the first superintendent of the temple, died on March 21, 1891.
- John Sharp, second superintendent of public works, as well as quarry worker and granite hauler, died on December 23, 1891.
- James Moyle, master mason and second superintendent of the temple, said to have "finished the first granite step laid in the building," died on December 8 of 1890.
- Truman Angell, the main architect given credit for the design of the Salt Lake Temple, died on October 16, 1887.
- The AI generated some characters outright, fabricating mythical connections to the history of the buildings, and making stories that fit nicely into the narratives.
- The characters actually did exist and died at the times we're told they did, while the narratives of the buildings were re-written backwards to match the chronology of the deceased men.
The Unnamed Heroic Workforce
...the wise King Solomon was Grand Master of the Lodge at Jerusalem, and the learned King Hiram was Grand Master of the Lodge at Tyre, and the inspired Hiram Abiff was Master of Work, and Masonry, was under the immediate Care and Direction of Heaven... (Anderson, Constitutions, 1723, p. 14)
The entered apprentices were arranged to mess by sevens, and the fellow crafts by fives; and their wages were even paid with the same scrupulous regard to regularity. To prepare the foundation "for the purpose of erecting this temple, the most astonishing hollows were filled up; for the earth was raised four hundred cubits, in order to form it on a level with the surface of the rock on which the building was raised". (The Antiquities of Freemasonry, 1899, p. 343)
Just to give you an idea of what Oliver is claiming here, 400 cubits is around 600 feet. That means that these miracle workers raised the earth 2 football fields in height with hand shovels.
Accounts of laborers in 19th century Utah echo this Herculean effort described in the Masonic account. For instance, men and boys digging the massive foundation hole for the Salt Lake temple with hand shovels in only six weeks during the winter; pioneers in Manti quarrying rock directly underneath the temple site; temple builders in St. George filling a massive hole with lava rock and compacting it with an old canon from the Napoleonic wars; workers constructing the massive Saltair pavilion in only three months during winter while simultaneously finishing the Salt Lake Temple; in Logan, an old mule that hoisted rock up to the temple masons without a driver; miracle workers finishing the interior of the Salt Lake temple in only one year without power tools; and tens of thousands of Chinese and Irish immigrants laying endless miles of track, blasting out tunnels, and building wooden trestles and iron bridges in only a few years while constructing the Transcontinental Railroad.
Oliver continues with details about the cornerstone and the stone numbering system, writing in 1899:
King Solomon...laid the foundation stone at the north-east angle of the temple, on Mount Moriah...amidst the acclamations of rejoicings of his assembled subjects...Every stone, every piece of timber, was carved, marked, and numbered in the quarry and the forest; and nothing remained for the workmen at Jerusalem but to join the materials with precision, on a reference to the marks and numbers. (Ibid, pp. 343-44)
If you're familiar with the history of the Salt Lake temple construction this last part should sound familiar to you. In the account, Truman Angell also had a stone numbering system:
Each stone required a hand-drawn "bill" containing its design and measurements, with copies made in triplicate--one for the architect, one for James Livingston at the quarry, and one for the stonemasons on the temple block. The collected Bills of Stones ran 169 hand-written pages of numerical tables, and the Diagrams of Courses showing the position of every stone in the building totaled 344 pages. The "Truman System," as the paperwork was known, kept Folsom busy that winter. (Henshaw, Forty Years, p. 242)
Keep in mind that the source of the quote above is Wilford Woodruff's journal, not the actual copies of the "hand-drawn bills".
Masonic authors describe Solomon's Temple as the most "beautiful" and "splendid" specimen of architecture that was ever built, as if the skill of the Israelite craftsman excelled all others around the world.
...by the precepts and admonitions of super-excellent Masons, the most perfect master-piece of art was produced that ever adorned the world. (The Antiquities of Freemasonry, p. 344-45)
From Anderson writing in 1723:
The most sumptuous, splendid, beautiful, and glorious edifice, attracted soon the inquisitive artists of all nations to spend some time at Jerusalem, and survey its particular excellencies, as much as was allow'd [sic] to the Gentiles; whereby they soon discovered, that all the world, with their joint skill, came far short of the Israelites, in the wisdom and dexterity of architecture... (Constitutions, p. 14)
And from Jeremy Cross writing in 1846:
This structure [Solomon's Temple], for beauty, magnificence, and expense, exceeded any building which was ever erected. It was built of large stones of white marble, curiously hewn, and so artfully joined together, that they appeared like one entire stone...
In addition to this, there were expenses for the workmen, and for materials brought from Mount Libanus, and the quarries of Zeradatha. There were ten thousand men per month in Lebanon, employed in falling and preparing the timbers for the craftsman to hew them; seventy thousand to carry burdens; eighty thousand to hew the stones and timber; and three thousand three hundred overseers of the work; who were all employed for seven years...(The True Masonic Chart, p. 97-98)
To recap, we find in this pattern: hundreds to thousands of nameless laborers working in unison to accomplish what seems to us, impossible feats of construction. The workers are not allowed to tell their version of the story, as their journals and/or other writings are omitted from the narrative. They only exist as a mass of subordinates working under the authority of leaders who are named.
In the Salt Lake temple narrative, these leaders include: Brigham Young, Truman Angell, Don Carlos Young, James Livingston, John Sharp, Alonzo Raleigh, Edward Lloyd Parry, James Moyle, John R. Winder, and a few others.
Everyone else is a collective abstraction, faceless and nameless workers who are quietly painted into the background canvas of the story. Not allowed to speak, write, or tell us what really happened behind those granite walls. (And their journals are missing from the archives.)
Let's get into the next pattern. This is where things get really strange.
The Death and Rebirth...of a Building?
And I saw another sign, in the likeness of the kingdoms of the earth, a beast, rise up out of the sea, and stood upon the sand of the sea...(Revelation 4:6, RE, emphasis added)
Nephi also uses water imagery to describe the great whore of Babylon, whom he saw sitting "upon the many waters, and she had dominion over all the earth."
The waters, or the sea, represent the masses, so when John says he saw a beast rise up out of the sea, this may be a code word for revolution, or for one nation rising up to replace another as a power center.
In Masonic terms, this same concept is known as the "phoenix rising out of the ashes". A phoenix was an ancient mythological bird that represented the sun. Upon nearing death the bird would spontaneously burst into flames and then be reborn from its own ashes. It was a symbol of immortality following the path of the sun, rising and falling in cyclical patterns.
The word phoenix seems to derive from the word Phoenician, an ancient civilization that existed during Solomon's reign. Remember, Hiram of Tyre who helped build the temple was king of the Phoenicians. They were a maritime society who shipped goods all over the world, one of their trademarks were purple dyes, a color that is associated with royalty.
The Greek form of phoenix was phoinix, which was synonymous with the word griffin. A griffin is a crossbred animal consisting of a lion and an eagle that is found in statue form on old buildings all over the world.
Many old world buildings were said to be founded, which literally means that an original foundation or structure was discovered and either built on top of or improved upon. Some of these buildings were said to have been built upon the foundations of the old, and this is where the symbol of the phoenix comes into play.
In an old Masonic book, Stellar Theology and Masonic Astronomy, author Hewitt Brown quotes a passage describing the cornerstone ceremony of the Capitol building in Rome, which was rebuilt by the Emperor Vespasian:
The care of rebuilding the Capitol he committed to Lucius Vestinus, a man of equestrian rank, but in credit and dignity among the first men of Rome. The soothsayers, who were convened by him, advised that the ruins of the former shrine should be removed to the marshes, and a temple raised on the old foundation, for the gods would not permit a change in the ancient form. ("History" of Tacitus, Book IV, c. 53, emphasis added)
I wonder, what was this "ancient form" prescribed by the gods? Was this a ritual based on the phoenix? Did old temples really need to be built upon the ashes of more ancient buildings or was this all just symbolism? More importantly, is this a clue into our hidden history?
Another theme mirroring the phoenix is a major pattern that shows up in 19th century American history. Almost every major city in the United States had a "great fire" during the 1800s that burned vast parts of stone cities to ashes. Watch this video for more info. Could there really have been great fires in all these cities during a single century? The mathematical probability of all-consuming fires destroying every major city in America during this time period approaches zero…unless of course these were not fires at all, but coordinated attacks with advanced weaponry.
Regardless, in the fire narrative we find a theme of death and rebirth, symbolizing a new civilization rising on the ashes of the old. If you dig a little deeper into Masonic doctrine, you find that the "temple" is not a physical building at all, but a figurative representation of human civilization, which is rebuilt over and over again, and shaped by the Masons, who believe they are the guardians of humanity:
But Freemasonry most of all owes to the Dionysiac cult the great mass of its symbols and rituals which are related to the science of architecture. From these ancient and illustrious artisans it also received the legacy of the unfinished Temple of Civilization--that vast, invisible structure upon which these initiated builders have labored continuously since the inception of their fraternity. This mighty edifice, which has fallen and rebuilt time after time but whose foundations remained unmoved, is the true Everlasting House of which the temple on the brow of Mount Moriah was but an impermanent symbol...
Human society they [the Dionysiac Architects] considered as a rough and untrued ashlar but lately chiseled from the quarry of elemental Nature. This crude block [i.e., Human Civilization] was the true object upon which these skilled craftsman labored--polishing it, squaring it, and with the aid of fine carvings transforming it into a miracle of beauty. (Manly P. Hall, The Secret Teachings of All Ages, p. 138, emphasis added, my clarifications in brackets)
Hall just gave everything away in those two paragraphs.
The concept of buildings being built on the foundations of ancient temples is nothing but symbolism for the rebirth of society. And because the Masons are the "architects" and "craftsman", they get to "polish" and shape humanity (the untrued stones/ashlars) into whatever image they see fit. This is the height of narcissism; one group of people feeling superior over others and implementing their will through secret societies and subversive movements. This quote from Hall should wake us up to our truly awful situation.
What does this have to do with the Salt Lake Temple? Everything actually.
In 1858 we're told that the Utah War took place. The U.S. government sent troops to the Territory to put down a "rebellion." I wrote about that extensively here. As you may recall, in April of 1858, Brigham Young ordered that the temple foundation be covered up so that federal troops would not destroy it, and we're told that this was done in just a matter of weeks, after most of the inhabitants of Salt Lake had already evacuated.
Aside from this being logistically impossible, it is uncannily ritualistic. In the Hiramic myth, he is attacked by the ruffians, killed and buried, and then ritualistically raised by the grip of the Lion's Paw. Even though he is brought back to life, the "Lost Word" is still not recovered. Thus, a substitute word is used until future generations can rediscover the true word.
President Buchanan sending Johnston's army to Utah is an obvious ruffian attack perpetrated by the State. The temple foundation, i.e., Hiram, is then symbolically murdered and buried in an underground tomb or vault. It stays buried for three years (an allusion to the sun that is dead for three days during the winter solstice and also an allusion to Christ in the tomb).
In 1861, we're told that LDS pioneers dug up the temple foundation and discovered that the sandstone was faulty, i.e., cracked and split because it was improperly leveled. Thus, the work of "taking up" the old foundation and replacing it with granite had begun (the phoenix rising). But sources differ as to what actually happened here. Some claim the foundation was replaced with granite, others claim that the original "firestone" was never taken up at all, while yet others claim that the foundation is a mixture of both sandstone and granite.
However, none of these sources actually matter in the ritual, which only requires that a new foundation be built upon the old. Remember what A.E. Waite stated in the New Encyclopedia of Freemasonry: "the significance is in the allegory, and not in any point of history which may lie behind it".
Now, let's go a bit deeper down the rabbit hole.
D. Christian Markham recorded some of the ancient Egyptian initiation rites in the first volume of his two-book series, There Are Save Two Churches Only. If you want to understand how Freemasonry plays into secret combinations, you need to read his books. Christian passed away a few years ago but has left his legacy on the world.
Christian Markham found these initiation rites recorded in the book, A History of Secret Societies, by Arkon Daraul. Markham suspected that Arkon was a pseudonym of Idries Shah, an author who wrote on Sufi traditions.
Shah had access to a German document that was published in 1785 known as the Crata Repoa, a highly-detailed account of Greek initiation rites based on the more ancient Egyptian mysteries. I recommend reading this account in Markham's first volume of Two Churches Only, find it here. For our purposes in this post we will only be discussing the third degree. I'll briefly paraphrase it.
In this degree the initiate was brought to a door that had the words "Gate of Death" written above it. The coffin of Osiris was found in the center of this room along with a man representing the king of Egypt. The king asks the initiate "if he had a hand in the assassination of his master," which the aspirant quickly denied. The king then offered the initiate a golden crown which he had been coached to deny. Upon this denial the king ceremonially executes the initiate with a sacrificial axe and he is seized by embalmers and wrapped in bandages. He is then taken to a gate with the words "Sanctuary of Spirits" written over it.
The man was taken through the gate and placed on a boat which carried him to the judges of Hades. Here he was judged by Plato and a small group of men representing mythological characters. He was then sentenced by these judges and forced to remain in underground vaults for months, or even years. This initiation was known as the "days of wrath."
There are seven total degrees described in the Crata Repoa. The initiate eventually emerges from these underground vaults and undergoes several more trials until he reaches the final degree, at which point he becomes a new man and a member of a world-wide secret fraternity.
His ordeal was real but based on symbolism. The death and rebirth motif is based on Osiris and of course, Hiram Abiff to modern initiates.
Similarly, the Salt Lake temple foundation dies because of the threat of a ruffian attack, is buried for three years, and then emerges only to discover it has to be rebuilt and born anew.
The logistics of burying the temple foundation (with hand shovels and horse-drawn wagons to haul in dirt) during a small window of time when hardly anyone was in Salt Lake City don't add up at all. This tells us that this story is symbolic, and not literal. The temple foundation was there all along, its narrative shaped by Freemasons using AI to insert their symbolic traditions directly into our written LDS history.
Now, let's discuss how the "Lost" and Substitute" words play into this story.
Substitute Word = Official Narrative
God creates, Satan imitates.
Satan cannot create anything. He can only mimic what has already been created in order to deceive you. In other words, he offer's you a substitute of the real thing and dresses it up with symbolism, lore, and mythological nonsense. He often mixes these concepts with actual scripture, telling you 99 truths for every single lie. His deception can be so subtle that even the very elect can be fooled.
With the Masonic concept of the "lost word," we find another Satanic imitation of one of God's truths. In the book of John, we learn what the "word" of God actually is:
In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word, and the world was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God...
He was born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the same Word was made flesh and dwelled among us. (John 1: 1-2, RE [Full Joseph Smith Translation], emphasis added)
Jesus Christ is the Word. In the Greek translation of the Bible, word appears as logos. The etymology of logos is divine Word, speech, statement, discourse, reason, judgment, and understanding. Or, in other words, the gospel, or light and truth. Christ encapsulates everything that the logos is: He teaches us the Word but He is also the Word, a living prototype of a saved being.
Satan has his own version of the "word" that has been passed down through his religious institutions, i.e., the Mystery Schools and of course, modern Freemasonry. The "word" in the Luciferian mysteries connotes gnosis, or higher knowledge. In order to obtain this knowledge initiates have to advance from one degree to another, while maintaining obedience and loyalties to unknown superiors in higher fraternal orders and secret societies.
They believe it was Lucifer, the wise serpent in the Garden of Eden, who imparted this knowledge, or gnosis to Eve, and ultimately, to mankind in the beginning. This is why Lucifer is represented by the Greek god Prometheus, who bearing his torch (the light-bearer) he stole from the gods on mount Olympus (i.e., rebellion in Heaven), passes the fire of knowledge to mortals. The Statue of Liberty is not actually a woman, but is a representation of Prometheus (Lucifer) passing his torch, or sharing his light and knowledge with mankind.
In modern Freemasonry, Hiram Abiff is the embodiment of the "word". Abiff is the Satanic substitute for Jesus Christ, because he (Abiff) not only possesses the "lost word", but he literally is the lost word; when he is martyred, the word was lost with him. Here is what Manly P. Hall said about Hiram Abiff:
To the initiated Builder the name Hiram Abiff signifies "My Father, the Universal Spirit, one in essence, three in aspect." Thus the murdered Master is a type of Cosmic Martyr--the crucified Spirit of Good, the dying god...
Hiram, is a radical word consisting of three consonants... i.e. the Universal, invisible, cold fire of Nature attracted by the Sun, manifested into light and sent down to us...
It is evident that Hiram is to be considered as a prototype of humanity; in fact he is Plato's Idea (archetype) of man. As Adam after the Fall symbolizes the Idea of human degeneration, so Hiram through his resurrection symbolizes the Idea of Human regeneration. (The Secret Teachings of All Ages, pp. 139-140)
This is more than some legend, this is a cosmic story of death and resurrection. Hiram Abiff isn't just a Master Builder to the Masons, he is the false god Lucifer, who wants credit for being the Great Architect of the Universe (a Masonic term), seeking worship, praise, and adoration for creating things that he did not create.
It is Christ who is the true Creator (framing the vast worlds in the Universe), and prototype of humanity. This was clearly taught to us by Joseph Smith in the Lectures on Faith.
In a different section of the book, Hall reveals that the "Word" is the sacred name of the "God of Eternities, Ra." Remember, modern false gods are based on ancient ones. Ra, Osiris, Horus, and others have represented the sun, which dies and is reborn every solar cycle. Hiram Abiff is just another name for the same old story. Hall explains that magicians can use the "Word" to summon forces from the unseen realm:
This name [the sacred name of Ra] is equivalent to the Lost Word of Masonry. By means of the Word, a magician can demand obedience from the invisible and superior deities. The priests of Isis became adepts in the use of the unseen forces of Nature. They understood hypnotism, mesmerism, and similar practices long before the modern world dreamed of their existence. (Ibid., p. 77)
Hall is only scratching the surface here, and is giving you the exoteric explanation. The real way elites tap into demonic forces is through the blood as currency model. This is done through ritualistic sacrifice of innocent victims, often children. I don't want to get too far afield here, but this subject is important and is currently being exposed by the We Are The People podcast in Utah. I also recommend reading Amberli Peterson's book, Ripened. In chapter 14, Amberli explains the blood as currency model in great detail.
I only include this reference to ritualistic sacrifice here because victim witnesses are coming forward now, many of them having been through the CIA-sponsored MK Ultra mind control program, are claiming to have been abused in the basements of LDS temples, including the Salt Lake Temple and the tunnels connecting it to other buildings on Temple Square. Please do your own research on this, as many of these victims need our help.
So how does the "lost word" apply to the Salt Lake Temple narrative?
The lost word is the true origin story of the temple. It includes what group of people actually constructed it, what timeline it was built in, what purpose it was intended for, what technology was used to build it, who the actual architect was, the original blueprints showing loadbearing calculations, the actual journals of the real masons and quarry workers, the intended meaning of the exterior symbols carved (with precision machinery) into the granite, etc.
In other words, the real story. The unfettered truth.
The narrators persist with the false historical narratives to uphold the status quo. They need to tell a story that supports their claim to God's authority, as if He had a hand in helping them build the temple. They need to appear to their followers with authoritative legitimacy, cloaked in the robes of priesthood piety, in order to preserve the power and gain (now to the tune of hundreds of billions) they have amassed over the last century and a half.
The story must contain elements of the miraculous, and it must be sustained by pretended authority that preserves institutional continuity.
The 200 year LDS history has been made to appear, as Murray Rothbard once stated, "as an inevitable march upward into the light." It must appear smooth, with no jagged edges or messy logistics. It must appear as if the institution has been incrementally gaining light and knowledge while simultaneously amassing wealth, prestige, and unfathomable power.
So what is the substitute word? It's the official narrative, designed, above all other things, to preserve perceived institutional authority.
In Masonic terms, the lost word is the hidden knowledge known only to the highest initiates, while the substitute word is reserved for the profane, i.e., the duped masses. D. Christian Markham explains how this works as follows:
The general public, the "profane," are fed the exoteric, the myths, the sometimes bizarre or disjointed stories of gods and heroes, and are given various simplistic (sometimes even insulting to one's intelligence) explanations to the symbols and symbolism used. However, the initiates and the adepts are provided the esoteric explanations to these same symbols and myths--they are given to know exactly what the gods and heroes represent in these strange old stories. (Two Churches Only, Vol. 1, p. 51)
Let's talk about how this applies to the Salt Lake Temple narrative.
We are given a story about a "righteous" temple-building people. They endure incredible hardships and overcome insurmountable obstacles during their 40-year labor of constructing a temple. The story is told as coherent, faith-promoting, and enduring. No matter who dies during the temple construction, priesthood authority is preserved and passed down to successors.
The temple itself is threatened with destruction from ruffian attacks such as: Johnston's Army in 1858, the Edmunds Tucker Act of 1887, and nonmember sightseers ascending the towers in 1892.
The temple is miraculously preserved and "raised" triumphantly in the symbolic capstone ceremony. The narrative begins and ends with ritual: the ground breaking, the cornerstone ceremony, the capstone ceremony, and the dedication. The Lost Word is preserved in the cornerstone and capstone as historical artifacts, but the profane (us) are not allowed to view them (this includes actual photos of Joseph and Hyrum Smith).
The focus of the narrative is supernatural and awe inspiring. Miraculous stories and ritualistic ceremony overshadow the absence of logistical construction details. Hard facts about logistics are avoided altogether and replaced with faith-promoting anecdotes told decades after the fact.
The supernatural aspect of the narrative removes the burden of proof that's inherently the responsibility of the narrators and replaces it by bringing into question the "spirituality" of those who doubt the narrative. This is gaslighting at it's finest.
Remember, the burden of proof is always the responsibility of those telling the story, not those hearing or reading it.
The interior and exterior of the temple serve as even deeper Masonic mirrors. The interior represents the inner sanctum, the place Hiram Abiff went to pray before he was killed by the ruffians. We are not allowed to view the interior construction in photographs (except for one of the Assembly Room) which would show the progress of the one-year completion. We are not given any explanation of how this work was completed so quickly and we are not given access to journals of the 200-300 workmen claimed to be laboring between 1892 and 1893.
The interior represents the esoteric, or lost word, the sanctum sanctorum only visible to the elites. Only they know how (and when) the interior work was completed--and by who.
The exterior represents the substitute word, or what the profane are allowed to see. We are given photographic progression of the exterior, but the photos have been highly photoshopped and contain anomalies. This preserves the mystery that always baffles the profane and keeps them in awe (and in subservience).
We are purposely only given certain pieces of the puzzle. The rest of the pieces are provided by "God" through the supernatural aspects of the story. This ensures that the uber-religious and obedient majority will not question the narrative. In a room full of smoke and mirrors, we only see what they want us to see.
The Salt Lake Temple as a Living Hiram Abiff Allegory
I asked the robot (Chat-GPT) to summarize our conversations about the ritualistic aspects of the narrative. Here are the main points:
Archetypal Cycle: Death/Loss, Concealment, Substitution, Recovery, Resurrection.
And here is how it applies to the Salt Lake Temple:
- "Truth" of origins buried: Early foundation covered in 1858; construction halted.
- Substitution: Temporary word maintains continuity; official pioneer narrative: oxen, hand chisels, divine perseverance; substitution story for the public.
- Cornerstone Laying (1853): Masonic Echo: every temple begins with a cornerstone ceremony. Function: the appointment of sacred work under divine authority.
- Foundation Burial: Hiram's body concealed. Function: the first "loss" or concealment of the sacred Word.
- Re-excavation and Granite Foundation: Masonic Echo: the discovery of Hiram's remains and substitution of new material. Function: symbolic rebirth and substitution.
- Truman Angell as the Slain Master: Function: Architect dies before completion--ritual repetition of Hiram's death.
- Edmunds-Tucker Act (1877): Echo: Ruffian Assault. Function: External powers attempt to desecrate or seize the Temple, demanding the "Word."
- Capstone Ceremony (1892): Echo: Sealing the Vault. Function: Hidden records placed in cornerstone/capstone; true knowledge concealed yet preserved.
- Dedication (1893): Echo: Raising of Hiram. Function: Triumph and Recovery; the Temple "raised" to life, faith vindicated.
- Forty Year Symbolism (1853-1893): Biblical Context: 40 days/years=period of testing, purification, or transition (Moses, Jesus, Israelites)...40 represents the full passage through probation before truth is revealed.
And here is the summary of the esoteric interpretation:
- True History - The genuine knowledge (how/why the Temple truly came to be) is "slain" and hidden.
- Substitute Word = Official Narrative - The hand-tool, oxen, and pioneer myth serves as a placeholder for the masses - a stand in word.
- Recovery = Esoteric Revelation - The initiate (or researcher) who sees through the substitute story and seeks the buried truth participates in the Royal Arch moment - the recovery of the Word.
Dear readers. I did not come up with this.
This was given to me by the AI robot. Is this artificial intelligence openly revealing the patterns behind our scripted history? Is this an admission that our history is false? Are Satan, his minions, and the secret societies he controls so powerful at deception that they have the ability to re-write history in their own image, according to their ritualistic patterns?
Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past...
Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture repainted, every statue, street, and, building renamed, every date altered. And the process continues day by day... Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.
